• Several days ago, I was choosing a GDPR plugin for my website to replace the previous one that wasn’t working properly without any support. I came across your plugin, but since I use a test local environment, I conducted tests, set up the style, configured settings, and everything looked great. However, I didn’t notice that the settings export function only works as export, and the import feature is paid. Essentially, I don’t need paid features. Today, I’m stuck with a plugin that I can’t transfer to my web server because it’s essentially paid. I can’t do anything, and I don’t have the desire to reconfigure everything again because it’s time-consuming. My settings were perfectly configured before I could transfer them to the server, but the attempt to transfer them via the database deleted everything, and now I’m left only with a JSON file that cannot be imported because it’s paid. It’s strange, of course, such an approach because not everyone can immediately add and configure the plugin on the server, especially without tests, and here’s some kind of double approach, like install first and then pay. Very disappointed. Although the plugin is really good. And the free version was enough for me.

    Hi @power2009,

It seems that I’ve missed this thread, so please excuse the delay in response time.

Importing the Complianz settings with the JSON export is indeed only possible in the Pro plugin, but of course you could use your own desired migration method (e.g. using plugins like Duplicator or WPVivid) to migrate the desired parts of the site; including the necessary database tables and such.

The Complianz settings export will include settings such as those configured in the Wizard, as well as the Cookie Banner styles/settings. After importing your settings, the WordPress Pages containing your Legal Document(s) can be recreated within the Documents -> Create Documents part of the Wizard by clicking the “Create/update pages” button here. This will use your imported settings to recreate these documents.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Kind regards, Jarno
