• Hello,

Version 4.9 (I’ve made the update from 4.6 during my tests; 4.6 the same problems) hangs when trying to export to file. It’s trying to archive 7516 files. But the index stays at 0%.

I tried it with set_time_limit (600); in wp-config.php and without this setting. No chance, it always hangs.

Exporting just the database works fine. But exporting the other stuff (without the db) – no chance.

    Where’s the problem?

    Thx
    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Could you let me know what your hosting provider is?
Do you have backups from other plugins (in your wp-content) that you can delete before export?

    Hi Pim,

afaik the provider ist Strato. But since it is the site of a customer I don’t have enough knowledge yet of what’s going on on the server.

Is it possible that this is a problem of size?

    Hi Oliver,

Our engineers had found that Strato has put a 64MB restriction of file size – meaning the plugin cannot export anything over 64MB.
You may try exporting in chunks (only database, plugin, theme, media files and etc) using Advanced Options, but if it is over 64MB, likely the plugin will not be able to complete an export.

Hi Pim, I’m having the same issue (export stuck at 0%). By file size do you mean the upload_max_filesize setting? The site on a VPS and I can use the phprc file.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

It is not upload_max_filesize but for Strato, they have set the limit for a file on their shared platform to be 64MB.

Do you have cache/security plugins activated?
If you have backups from other plugins, I recommend you to delete them before export.

Hi Pim, There is a Varnish cache on this VPS along with a cache purge plugin on WP. Also iThemes security plugin is there. I have deactivated them both (although cache purger should not make a difference) but still the same. I get only this message, which is hanging indefinitely:

    Archiving 6459 files…
    0% complete

I have also Duplicator installed and have removed all the backups made there. I have also disabled SSL, with which I had issues in the past, but to no avail. It’s interesting though that I have another WP installation (for testing) with virtually the same setup (apart from few plugins, there is a cache plugin and even enabled), same phprc, same memory limit (256M), both accessible via CloudFlare with the same settings (caching & all other services apart from security disabled), but that one is on a shared system and it works.

First message I should get is:

Retrieveing a list of all WordpPress files…

Then followed by database dump messages, done retrieveing all the files etc. and it completes in a minute. It is also interesting that the .wpress files does get created in ai1wm-backups and in size that corresponds to the actual installation. I also see the package in the backups section of the plugin, it’s just as if I don’t get any feedback on what’s been done.

Any idea how to further troubleshoot this?

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Could you check the error log (wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/storage/error.log) and let me know if you find anything?
I have some beta versions for you to try out as well, if you do not mind reaching us at support at servmask.com

    Hi Pim,

There are few messages there although not the same at all occasions (obfuscated real path with user/site.com).

I’m ok to test beta versions. I’ll send an email with reference to this thread shortly.

    Thank you so much, Tom.

For the record: in my case the problem was solved by purging Varnish cache prior to export. Thanks Pim for the assistance!

Hello Oliver and Pim, I’m trying to move a customers website from Strato to Topservers nl, and I think I have the same problem as Oliver: restrictions by Strato. The export never finishes. That’s why I’d like to know, did you manage to move the website in the end, and how did you do that? Thank you.

    Hi Diane,

Have you tried exporting in chunks using Advanced Options?
