what version of wp are you using?

At the bottom of my dashboard, it says 2.0.4. Could that be the version?

I am also using a template. Could this be why I am not seeing the standard WordPress options? (I do not have a Tools section.)

Yes, that’s the version. And it’s way too old to have the Export functionality.

that is the version and that is why you dont have an export option. the ability to export content via the wp-admin area was introduced later.

those arent the same thing- saving the content can exist w/o wordpress.com, in other words.
