Export from posts then import to custom post type

  • How can I export a whole bunch of posts and then import them into a new custom post type I have created?

    Ive tried replacing the post_type field in wp_posts table from post to my custom post type… but no luck.

    Any ideas?

  • I think you would manually import at least one of them, then export it.

    That way you could see exactly the xml structure required by your new custom post type (rather than the normal post structure)

    Then just replicate that xml structure for the rest of the posts you want to import
