• Hi I am trying to redesign a wp site to use customizr theme. I have got an old copy of the site looking right, but I now need to apply the theme and the settings to the original site. Is it possible to export the customizr settings and import them into the site once I have changed the theme?
I presume I can’t just copy tables over because I am using WP multisite.

    Thanks

  • Don’t see how you’ll be able to do that.

It demonstrates the strength of a Child Theme which will contain CSS in style.css which you can move between sites as needed.

The pages are rendered depending on the Czr settings so you’ll need to change the existing site to Czr and then try switching off all Czr settings or as many as you can without spoiling the current design of the legacy site.

Multisite makes it a degree harder!

Without knowing the site, hard to advise but it may be quicker to start with a clean design and then cut&paste content.

Hmm I was hoping not to have to do that – I can’t find an easy way to redesign an existing live site – it is not just a Customizr problem. I can’t make modifications to the live site and if I clone it and modify then I am stuck in this situation of having to somehow retrace my steps on the original site. Maybe I need to get my head round plugin design and make me a few $$ ??

What’s wrong with the old site? Why are you changing it?

The usual reason is that the Owner feels like a refresh, which justifies having to redesign using a new Theme ie Czr

Exactly – it was looking very tired…

I wonder if WP Migrate DB might help? Anyone used it in this context? for me the development and production sites are both on the host multisite…
