Exponent in calculations

Been trying to have exponent in the calculations but seems not working. I tried symbol ** for exponent as well as pow() but both aren’t being processed by the calculation variable. How can I make exponent to be computed within the calculation variable?

Yeah. I already tried using ^ in my eq.
I tried using an exponent in complex computation. My use case is mortgage calculator and I don’t want to install another plugin just to accomplish it.
The result is NaN but when I change ^ to + it solves the eq without any error (of course the answer is not right but shows that the symbol causes the error hehehe).
