Explain What WordPress Does

Hi…
I am an active blogger and an entrepreneur. I have a website up (www.christopherdrummond.com), a blog, myspace, facebook, etc., all to promote the makeup line I’m launching.

I happened upon WordPress, and I’m intrigued, but very overwhelmed with it. It seems like it would be a great tool to use, but I’m just not sure what WordPress does, exactly!!! I don’t want to download it and realize that it’s too advanced for me, or that it isn’t what I need.

I am looking to help maximize my website and blog, get more viewers, and ultimately get more people to buy my product.

any advice would be appreciated
