• When I try to update content (i.e. pages, et cetera) I receive a message “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

When I check the admin email including the spam box I do not see any e-mails. I double checked the e-mail address to ensure that it is correct as well.

    I am running WordPress 5.2.1.

    Hi there!

It sounds like your site is possibly in recovery mode. Was the site recently updated?

Yes it was a few days ago. How do I get it out of recovery mode? I can view the dashboard and select the items that I want to modify but I can not modify any pages.

Hello Jose! Sorry I was so frustrated that I did not say hi.

I can access the setting and plugins, as well as, update those. However, anything that has to do with the physical page content throws an error. Is there a way to find the information that I should be able to find in the e-mail?

    Ah, got it.

It sounds like possibly a plugin was updated and it didn’t like that. Are you able to access your plugins list page?

    Yes. I can access it.

    What was recently changed/updated?

WooCommerce and LearnDash plugin. The WooCommerce seems to be working. LearnDash I have contacted them to ensure that deactivating the plugin will not delete the content. As well as the Divi Builder. I also updated the Divi Theme.

    Ok.

Does it happen if you temporarily deactivate the Divi Builder and switch to a bundled theme like Twenty Nineteen?

Think of it as a soft reset to see what could have caused it. If that resolves the issue, then it it that plugin or theme having trouble somehow.

I believe that it is Divi thinking more. I have a cloned site with minor differences including this theme. This could very well be the key. I will try another one temporarily to see if this resolves it. In the meantime, how do I get WordPress to send the e-mails that it is stating that I should be receiving?

That sounds like it could be a mail/server setting. One plugin that comes to mind is SMTP in order to test that out.

Deactivating the Divi theme, as well as, Divi builder plugin did not resolve it.

I sent an e-mail from the WooCommerce a few moments ago and that sent successfully via the WordPress admin. I have received e-mails in the past to let me know that WordPress had been updated. However, I am not receiving any now indicating the error.

    Great. Ruled those out ??

Deactivate each plugin one by one until that resolves the issue of not being able to make changes to pages.

    (@renae2)

    Thanks. I will do that.
