I see some orders that have no Shipping Address. In the order I see:

    Shipping
    Address:
    No shipping address set.

Is that what is expected when a user does not “Ship to a different address” than the billing? Or is this unexpected behaviour or a bug?

How does a plug-in detect that no different address is used? Comparing all the address fields? Or is the state of the “Ship to a different address” checkbox stored in the order?

  • Hello,

When an order only contains virtual/downloadable products which don’t require shipping, you’ll see “No shipping address set” on the backend.

If a user orders a physical product but doesn’t check “Ship to a different address” at checkout, WooCommerce automatically copies the billing address to shipping address.

    I hope it clarifies

So this means I’ll have to compare all the fields to know they are equal, right? I mean that the checkbox state is not stored in the order, only the addresss, right?

    Hi there,

I see some orders that have no Shipping Address.

Also, when there are orders created manually on the site, you will not be asked to enter the shipping address.

Do the orders with no shipping address have something different from the rest? Can you please provide more information? So that we can provide better assistance.

    Thanks.

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
