• Hello, all!

I am brand new to WordPress, but I will be using it to build a small site shortly.

I am going to be hiring a graphic designer to work on it, and I have a question regarding a part of the design as it interacts with WordPress.

The site is just going to be one page, at first, with 2 to 3 sub-pages in content boxes and a couple of link lists in content boxes (to control the sub-pages).

All of the content boxes will be surrounded by a graphic border (i.e. the borders will not just be a standard border that’s a solid color or thickness – they will be designed images/graphics).

Instead of having boxes that are static in size, I’d like for them to be expandable, depending on the content inside. For example, if the box contains a sub-page with only a couple paragraphs, the box would be one size (a minimum size). If another sub-page is selected that has 5 more paragraphs, the box would grow in size (up to a certain maximum size).

My question is, “Does WordPress allow for this possibility, considering the borders will be made up of images?”

For graphic designers out there, “What images would a designer need to make in order for this to work?

When trying to think of this myself, this is what I came up with:

    – image for top of box (including corners)
    – image for bottom of box (including corners)
    – two small images that can be repeated (one on left and one on right side of the content box) depending on the size of the box)

If necessary, I could possibly just have a top and bottom image for each box, make the content box a different color than the site background, and just not have side borders, but I’d rather not do that, if possible.

    Thanks for reading!!
