Expand the search form (filter button)

Initially the searchform is hidden until we click on the filter button which is present in the page header , but once clicked , the search form is displayed in a expanded view . I want to display the search form in a expanded view with not altering the functionality of the filter button , Help me find an option in the page setup or any shortcode through which I can do this easily
