Expand sub items on mobile menu

I’m wondering whether it would be possible to have mobile menus open with sub menu items expanded and the line spacing closer together.

It’s currently not obvious to users accessing our site on a mobile phone that they have to click on the down arrow.

If there are any alternative ways of making mobile menus more usable would welcome thoughts.
