I’m using the Yoast SEO plugin on picturesofpoverty.com and am having problems with the xml sitemap.

I can get https://picturesofpoverty.com/sitemap_index.xml to show up, but when clickthrough to https://picturesofpoverty.com/page-sitemap.xml it serves a 404 page.

I submitted this to my host and they said that the plugin “doesn’t index the existing pages and as a result throws a 404 Not Found error when visiting the page-sitemap.xml”

I set tried adding a new page in my staging site and it did show up in the page-sitemap.xml file.

Any ideas how I can get all the pages on the site to show up in the page-sitemap.xml file?

Did you set the options in the plugin to allow pages to be added to the sitemap?

Go through EVERY menu and sub panel to see what does what.

    You can also try:
    a) resave permalinks
    b) clear transients with WP-Optimize or similar.

@neotrope – tried all of that. No luck.

    try this

    a) turn sitemap option on/off in Yoast panel

    b) change number of items from 1000 to 900

also, make sure you don’t actually have a page called “page-sitemap” as you can’t have any two endpoints with same name, which can cause it to redirect to the ‘page’ if there was one at some point; hence the resave permalinks.

Alsom, fully clearing cache for site if you use any plugin was obvious, so not mentioned.

Tried all of those (and flushed the cache once again.) Still showing a 404 page.
