• I am a newbie in WordPress. In October 2018 I installed WordPress and the plugin Elementor. I made a few pages in it.

This morning I update WordPress to version 5 and also all the installed plugins. So far So good. But now I have the problem that when I make a change on any existing pages I receive a message Server fault 403 when I want to save the page.

When I make a completely new page I don’t receive the message.

What can I do so that it is possible for me again to make changes on the existing pages?

There is no difference between editing an old page and creating a new page. Same process for both.

I know it should be the same. In my case it isn’t. A change on an old page results in a message “Server fault (403 forbidden)”. A new page since the update doesn’t give a fault message.

Okay, so you need to look at your error logs on the server. See why you’re getting the 403 message.

Alternatively, you might have some kind of security plugin interfering. Standard procedure: disable all your plugins, see if the problem is solved, re-enable the plugins one by one until the problem comes back. Then you’ll know which plugin is causing the issue.

I am having a similar issue. I have had a wordpress site for two years and have over 200 pages created. Since the 5.0 update, I can no longer modify or edit any existing pages. I was previously using Page Builder by Create to lay out all my pages (which does not seem to be compatible any longer). I can, however, create a new page. The problem is I need to edit my existing pages daily with new blog content. Any advice or help? I’m not the most tech savvy gal!
