First, thank you for all the improvements and new features brought with your latest plugin version.

My site has 1050 posts and 1142 media items.

I have removed “EWWW Image Optimizer” plugin that I used previously and ran the Existing Images Optimization function in your plugin Version 5.0.3. It went for the whole night – around 10 hours – and not finished yet.

I assume it’s a bug you want to fix in 5.0.4 or 5.0.5.
What do you recommend me to do please?

    Cheers,

    Hi again

Since posting, I found your sg optimizer new version recent blog and great tutorial – however it says “don’t worry, the optimization will complete even if you close the tab and leave it to work during the night for example“, which makes me think there might be a bug still…

    cheers,

Some more feedback for you :

    • upgrading to 5.0.4 did not solve the issue
    • the job about “WE ARE OPTIMIZING YOUR IMAGES…” has been going on for almost 40 hours and is not completed – or has bugged
    • I have 8 popups, such as “Insecure Content Fix Enabled” “New Images Optimization Enabled” “GZIP Compression Enabled” etc. that I cannot close and that occupy the whole right part of my screen
    • When switching sg-cachepress TABS such as going from /wp-admin/admin.php?page=sg-cachepress#/images to sg-cachepress#/environment > I will get a white screen (admin area). When refreshing the admin page, the white screen disappears and admin area is back as normal, excepted that the 8 x popups come back too…
    • “Memcached” function got unticked by itself when upgrading from 5.0.3 to 5.0.4 and I cannot switch it back on
    • The website front end does not seem affected but G PageSpeed Insights for Mobile can be improved…

      Cheers,

    More feedback :

upgrading to 5.0.5 did not solve the reported issues

then, since version 5.0.0, I also get this message after activation and after plugin version upgrade :

Warning “continue” targeting switch is equivalent to “break”. Did you mean to use “continue 2”? in …./public_html/diethylstilbestrol.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress/vendor/squizlabs/php_codesniffer/CodeSniffer/File.php on line 1766

More feedback after upgrading to 5.0.6 :

    WebSite (php 7.3) theme twentyseventeen
. Message : “The plugin generated 287 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.”
. Issue to not being able to turn “Memcached” on is fixed. I could turn it on.
. The popups messages disappeared after upgrading, but the bug is still there. If I enable options, I cannot close the popups. “Memcached Enabled”, “Insecure Content Fix Disabled” stay on my screen (as popups).
. When switching sg-cachepress TABS such as going from /wp-admin/admin.php?page=sg-cachepress#/images to sg-cachepress#/environment > I will sometimes get a white screen (admin area).
. The job about “WE ARE OPTIMIZING YOUR IMAGES…” has stopped BUT does not say it has been done. I have the button “Start Optimisation” as if I could start from the very beginning. I won’t try again because yesterday the server crashed and restarted – twice… this seems to taskload the server a lot…

    Website (php 5.6) with custom-made theme :
. I cannot run the .php compatibility diagnosis check. It stops after only 1%

Hope this will help the team, thank you

With 5.0.7, most of the issues listed before are still there :

. notification popups stay on the screen
    – white screen shows (admin area) when switching sg-cachepress#/… next Tab #/…
    – shows “Start Optimisation” for existing images while it has been done I believe
    – cannot run the .php compatibility diagnosis check on a site using php 5.6
    – each upgrade re-turns my MemCached “off” (Disabled), it does not save my previous settings, so I have to re-enable it !

Feedback with 5.0.8 and now 5.0.9

Two issues are now solved : the “popups notifications” and the “white screen when switching SG plugin nav menu” (described above in this thread).

Three issues are not fixed yet :

    1. affecting all sites : each new version of the plugin switches back the MemCached settings to “off” (Disabled), it does not save my previous settings, so I have to re-enable MemCached for each website.

    2. tested , the image optimization never ends.
    > Why not add a grid / gauge / chart that would display how many images (or %) have been done and what is still pending. So that we could actually see if “where we are” with that process…

    3. with site running on .php 5.6 I cannot run the .php compatibility diagnosis check, it is frozen at 1%.

Thanks for the reports, we’ve taken all them into consideration and released couple of updates which cover all of them!
