    What do you mean? At the very first step, when they are asked to provide email? I believe we have an error message when we find existing account. If you are not seeing it, it could be a bug or interference by another plugin or theme. Can you try disabling all other plugins (except BuddyPress), and changing theme to Twenty Seventeen, and see if it works then.

    If yes, then you can start enabling the othe rplugins one by one, checking each time to see whether the function works.

    This is how you will be able to identify which plugin or theme is conflicting with this one.
