Existing custom post types not appearing

I’ve search the forum and not found a solution to this, but I might have missed it.
My theme has 4 or 5 custom post types already installed, but they don’t appear on the Custom Post Types & Taxonomies page where I can edit them. They do appear in the select Custom post type list if I create a taxonomy, they just don’t appear in the own right.
Is there a way to add them?
