Existing buttons will be deprecated?

  • The PayPal express plugin is saying that existing buttons will be deprecated and that we need to switch to “smart” buttons. Just to confirm can we use Smart payment buttons and still send customers to the PayPal website? (We can’t take payments on our own site due to lack of security certificate so want to keep payments external to us.)

    Is switching to smart buttons as easy as selecting the checkbox in the payment settings?

    to confirm i am talking about the payment buttons.

    Yes, just select the check box and configure the options so the buttons look how you want and they’ll take over on the front end. If you do have any issues with them you can switch back, but they should work great for you!

    Yeah, the in-context popup will show the PayPal screen where the user can login and pay and return to the main site.
