    Hey @sotonyemark,

User roles are not always compatible between plugins, due to the role’s slug.

Usually, plugins, when registering user roles, will often prefix the slug to make sure it doesn’t create potential conflicts with other plugins or with WordPress itself.

We do this as well. Our own “Affiliates” user role has the slug “slicewp_affiliate”.

However, even if the role’s slugs would match between plugins, this wouldn’t be enough to switch over to SliceWP.

With our plugin, the user needs to be registered as an affiliate within the plugin, not just have the “affiliate” user role. You can see all registered affiliates in your WordPress dashboard > SliceWP > Affiliates.

Because we currently don’t have any migration tools from other plugins, your Affiliates page may be empty.

Furthermore, if you’d like to switch to SliceWP, we’d need to make sure the affiliate’s referral links remain the same, so you don’t have any loss of affiliate referral traffic.

SliceWP by default uses the affiliate’s unique ID to create the referral link. However, the plugin you’re using most certainly uses another value, maybe the user ID to build the referral link. I can’t be certain without extra information.

If you wish to switch to SliceWP, please let me know what plugin you’re now using to manage affiliates. I believe I may be able to write a migration tool.

Also, if you can let me know the format of your affiliate referral links, that would help.

    Thank you and best wishes,
    Mihai

    Hey @sotonyemark,

Considering we haven’t heard back from you these past few days, I’m going to consider this topic as resolved.

Even so, if you have any questions, please let us know.

    Best wishes,
    Mihai
