    Hi there;
    I just received an email from GSC regarding the “Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag” issue.
    The effected URL; is https://peshto.com/sitemap.html

    I haven’t changed any settings of XML Sitemaps Plugin on my website since I set up the plugin. I have many websites that I use your plugin. I think, sooner or later; GSC will start to send the same “Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag” issue for my other sites too.

    Do you have any suggestions regarding how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rihoaev,
    So far, the plugin creators haven’t replied to this thread yet.

    BUT, I unchecked the “Include sitemap in HTML format” section from the plugin settings and then turn back to GSC to validate.

    Let’s see if it will work or not.

    Hello thanks for reaching out to us. By default, the plugin doesn’t add noindex meta for the HTML-based sitemap versions. If you uncheck the HTML generation of the sitemap and resubmit it back to GSC to validate then it should work. However, can you please check your theme and other configs to see if they are not putting noindex meta tag inside the HTML-generated versions? Thanks

    Yes, I already unchecked the “Include sitemap in HTML format” section from the plugin settings. And started GSC validation.

    Okay, Let us know if that works for you.

    Did that work?

    Hi; Since then; it says validation started BUT nothing move forward at the GSC screen. When I check GSC > Indexing > Pages – it still show “validation started”.

    I guess the best option is to delete the sitemap and then unchecked the “Include sitemap in HTML format” section from the plugin settings and then re-submit.

    My site has only a few pages so it doesn’t bother much my SEO BUT if you have a lot of pages, you may consider doing it.

    @brs76 We are generating a virtual sitemap, therefore it’s not possible to delete it physically. However, you of course can disable the HTML format sitemap and feed the XML URL back to Google. Thanks
