• Hi,

Thanks for creating such a wonderful plugin, it is really simplifying the work of tracking setup!

I have a question regarding tax exclusion. The site at hand is an online store operating worldwide (countries have their own versions, there is also one global), built on WordPress/Woocommmerce. We’d like to exclude taxes from revenue and have enabled Exclude tax from revenue in the settings.

The results are uneven though. In Google Analytics we can see that taxes are neatly excluded from purchases happening outside the EU, but are still included in purchases within the EU. Perhaps this is related to the tax settings in Woocommerce somehow, but as I’m not an expert in this area and couldn’t find a similar case in the support repository, I’d kindly like to ask for some input on the issue. How does this setting work?

    Hi,

GTM4WP uses the wc_get_price_to_display() function to query product prices.

This will also check what is your setting for tax display in the shop in WooCommerce settings.

The option you mentioned has only affect on the revenue metric in transactions (=order total value). If checked, the total tax will be subtracted from the total order value and this will be sent to GA as purchase value = transaction value = revenue
