Exclude quoted content from word counting not working

can you post an example content (copied from the HTML tab of the WP editor) in which words are miscounted?

Further, I have also tried the setting with the default theme of WordPress – twenty seventeen and Twenty twenty with only 1 active plugin – Post pay counter.

The blockquote stripping was not flexible enough to allow tags with the class attribute. I have now fixed it and will release it as an update shortly.
