Exclude pages from nrelate

Good day, I know there is a nrelate page that describes how to remove a page or post from the gallery. But it doesn’t work for me.
I used the instructions on this page: https://nrelate.com/theblog/2011/10/19/remove-nrelate-from-a-particular-post-or-page/When I change is_single to is_page my whole website goes blank.
Can you help me solve it please?
