Exclude homepage from results?

As the note above the field says, the “exclude” feature doesn’t exclude pages from search results. It prevents the search box from autocompleting on those pages.

Plugins that alter the built in WordPress search should work. I’ve heard recent versions of Relevanssi have compatibility problems, but Search Exclude would probably work.
