Exclude Events Category

We are using the “shortcodes & templates addon” on the events calendar
plugin. We are happy with it but now we have an issue. On the shortcode
[category=”all”] or [category=”some-category”] to retrieve events but
there is no exclude category options.
Our use case is we create new categories as needed but we want to exclude
one category such as “internal” and I don’t see a way to do it. We
can’t keep updating [category=”something, something-new, something-newer”]
as we can’t anticipate the new category. but with [exclude-category=”internal”]
or some workaround we don’t know. we can still use [“category=”all’].
