Exclude child categories

Hi, I am adding my posts to a multiple categories but I want to display latest posts only from main category. Is it possible?

e.g.

post1 in category AAA (main) and BBB (second)
post2 in category AAA (main)
post3 in category BBB (main)
post4 in category BBB (main)

Now, when I go to category BBB, I want to display in sidebar latest posts of category BBB. Default your plugin display post1, post3 and post4 but I want to display only post3 and post4.
