Exclude category not working, minus character problem?

Hello,
I have been using this plugin for a while and I find it very useful, simple and flexible. I like it a lot.

I’m having a issue that might be a problem on my side but I’m stuck.

I’m trying to exclude a category (name=article_fr_en or id=6383) from the list (recent_issues or 4597), I have tried the possibilities I can think of but no luck, it keeps returning posts that should be excluded:

– [catlist id=”4597,–6383″]
– [catlist id=4597,–6383]
– [catlist id=4597–6383]
– [catlist name=recent_issues,–article_fr_en]
– [catlist name=”recent_issues,–article_fr_en”]

I wonder if this might be a character issue, maybe I’m using the “dash” instead of the “minus”, but not luck either trying out different characters.

Please help!
Has anyone come accross a similar issue?
