Exclude category from page plugin?

I’m begining work on a website where I’m gonna use WP as a CMS. I’m thinking about how to display only certain categories on certain pages, and I think I’ve figured out a good way to do it, but I’m not sure my PHP skills are up to it. Here’s how it would work. On the categories page there would be check boxes to select which page(s) the category would display on (as well as index, feed, archives, etc.). It would be similar to Elegant Category Invisibility but provide a few more options for page/category combiantions.

I hope this makes sense. If there’s already something like this out there please let me know, or any direction on how to make this work would be greatly appreciated.
