• Hi,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to exclude a category from EVERYTHING? Category listings, Archive listings, Next/Prev Links and Search Results. I basically want wordpress to ignore the category unless I call it. I’m trying to create a ‘youtube sidebar’ and essentially don’t want it to mix with the other content. Perhaps it’s possible to do something like this within the functions file?

  • You should have a look at the ‘front page excluded categories’ plugin. It may give you som hints on how to apply it to other places as well.

    And i googled a bit:

Just in case i found something you didn’t. Though i suppose you have googled a bit yourself too.

    Hey,

Thank you for the info, will go through it all now. Have definitely done some googling, been trying to get this working for a few days now! This thread is my last resort.

Will let you know if any of it works!

    Hi enotodden.

Unfortunately I have tried the above mentioned methods, but the problem with “if (is_home()) if (in_category(‘14′)) continue;” is that it doesn’t keep a consistent number of posts on the homepage.
