Exclude categories from Admin dropdown – How?

  • Here’s something I can’t find an answer to. I have a bunch of categories on my list that I no longer will put posts into. I’d like to unclutter the list by having them not appear in the tick list. So…
    How can I exclude categories from appearing in the Admin/Write category dropdown tick list?

  • Did you ever find an answer to this? I’m interested also.

    I’m not positive, but I *think* unless you’re willing to delete those cats (which puts all the posts from them into whatever equates to your “uncategorized” cat), there’s no way to simply “inactivate” them.

    How about simply making them invisible in the admin screen? Possible?
