    Hi there!

Slim SEO also includes the image sitemap by default to make sure your images are discoverable by search engines. All the images that you insert in the post content are added to the sitemap. So, when someone searches for your images, they’ll go to your posts to see the images.

How can I deactivate this default?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi @wpstack92 ,

The images in the sitemap are the images in the post content, which is public. Why don’t you want them to be searched on the Internet? With them searchable, your website will have a better chance to appear on SERP when people search for images.

    Hi @rilwis,

thank you for your reply! In my case with thousands of products and tens of thousand of tag pages it’s eating into the crawl budget. So I’d really prefer to not have them explicitly in the sitemap, if there’s a way.

    Thanks!

Currently, we don’t have a way to turn it off. We’ll see if we can add a filter to allow you to disable it.
