    Hello!

I would like to ask you if it is possible to exclude some events from the widget but not from the calendar. I am asking this because I organize an educational program three times per week. So, two days of every week are not available for the presentation. Due to this, I have created a category named “Not Available”. Is there any way to exclude this category only from the widget but not from the monthly calendar? It is frustrating when the widget continuously show “Not Available”

    Thank you!
    Nikos

  • Hi Nikos,

“Upcoming Events” widget has an option “Limit to: Events with these Categories”, select the category you want to appear in the widget, and other categories will not appear.

    Take care,
    Ben

Thank you Ben for your reply.

I have done this before but if I select a specific category to be excluded from the widget, this is also valid for the monthly view of the calendar. So my question is that, if it is possible this category to be exclude only from the widget but not from the monthly view of the calendar.

    Have a nice day.

Can you please provide a link to your calendar page.

    My calendar is here
    https://tapaidiavrexei.gr/calendar-2/action~month/exact_date~1475269200/cat_ids~13/request_format~json/

I want the events of the red boxes where my educational program isn’t available (this is written in the red boxes) they don’t be visible in the widget.

If I limit to this category, the red boxes are invisible not only from the widget but also from the monthly calendar. And this is a problem for me.

    Cheers,
    Nikos

    Hi Nikos,

I tested this on my test site and everything is fine. Do you use a shortcode?

    No I don’t.

The problem is that the widget is strongly connected with the calendar. So if I want to limit some categories from the widget, these categories will be also excluded from the monthly view of the calendar. So the user must clear the filter of the categories to see which days are not available. And this is tricky for someone not familiar with all of these.

    Cheers,
    Nikos

I understand your issue, but I can not replicate on my test site, it is possible that there is a conflict with your WP theme or other plugin, have you tried the troubleshooting guide? https://time.ly/document/user-guide/troubleshooting/first-troubleshooting-step/

Benjamin don’t worry. It is no critical. I can continue without this option.

I’m sorry I can not help more, it is necessary to check conflicts on your website, which unfortunately we cannot help with as part of our support.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi,

I have a similar issue: I’d like to set a filter on the widget. (ie: only show the ‘homepage’ category)

However the link to “Show calendar” will also apply that filter and that’s not what I want.

So basically I want to have a widget that shows some “highlighted” events and if you click on the “Show calendar” it would show you all events…

    Kind regards,
    Locolabo
