Exclude a category from recent posts?

Hi,

Does anybody know of a way to display a list of recent posts that aren’t in a particular category? I am trying to get rid of the ‘asides’. I’m currently using the MtDewVirus plugin, but as far as I can tell you can’t do that with it.
