• Is there any way to alter the layout of the far-right column on WBG book pages so that there is a free, blank column instead of the blog post? I would like to use this for inserting book reviewers’ comments.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @jimheisig

This is a blank custom sidebar for widgets.
So you can apply any widget or shortcoded form here.
The Sidebar name is “Book Gallery Sidebar”
You can also hide that sidebar.
To do that please go to Book Details Settings and Disable the Option “Display Sidebar?”

I am afraid I do not understand. I can click on the “Display Sidebar” OK, but I don’t see where to format it. I have avoided using Elementor to edit WGB books because all the information gathered up in WGB is not there. But if I use the general WordPress editor, there is no way I can see to manipulate a sidebar.

I think I wasn’t clear enough. I can add the sidebar and adjust the widget, but… this shows up on ALL pages in WGB. I only want to put in a blank form that I can add text to. The idea is to include “book review” comments on the right of each book, which would, of course, be unique to each book. I do not want to have users adding comments but only to display the text I enter. Is this possible?

    Yes possible.
You can simply add a text editor widget in the sidebar.
And apply the form shortcode in that text editor.
    This should work.

I made the form OK, and activated the sidebar. But when I open a particular book’s page to add text, there is no place to input text specific to that page. Am I missing something basic? (Not unlikely, given my feeble skills with WordPress.)

You need to apply a text editor widget in the sidebad and apply your required text.

I don’t see how to do this. I clicked on the “Display sidebar” button, and a column does indeed open up, but there is no WBG template for me to edit.

If I opt to “Edit with Elementor,” to add a widget, then all the “book description” data disappears. The default editor has no way to add widgets. I looked through everything I could find on this forum and viewed all the videos I could find, but I came up empty.
