Excerpts option missing

  • For some reason the excerpts option isn’t showing in my Edit Post section of my admin panel. I’ve looked under screen options and I only have the following options: Audio Settings Gallery Settings Video Settings Quote Settings Post Block Options SEO Settings Send Trackbacks Custom Fields Discussion Comments Slug Author Revisions Sharing Format Categories Tags Featured Image.

    When I switch to different WordPress themes then the Excerpt options becomes available again. Is there any way to add the Excerpt option to the theme I want to use?
