Excerpts only working on some results

In that third post – where is the word Alastair in the post? Where does Relevanssi find it?

It is near the bottom of the post.

Anne is mentioned in the 3rd para of the 4th result, but the excerpt doesn’t seem to be being shown…

Try switching the excerpt setting from characters to words. It’s the better option in the first place – much, much faster.

Thanks but I can see how do to that. Can you point me in the director of the correct option to make this change?

In Relevanssi settings, “Length of the snippet”. The dropdown has two options, “characters” and “words”. Change it to “words” (and adjust the number).
