• Let me see if I got it right.
The “excerpt” feature works where only what you put inside of it will appear on the home page and then you have to click on “continue to read full blog” to read the rest of the post, right?

Well, I put an excerpt in, but the entire blog still shows up on the home page. How do I fix this?

    Thank you.

That’s only when the excerpt is called somewhere…your theme is probably coded to show the entire post. You can do what you want by using the more tag on the editor…just type your entire post in the editor and then put your cursor where you want to split the post and click on the more tag.

This is a great question. I thoguht about the same thing.

Go to the codex, search for topics on exceprts.

    Try reading this one:

Thank you so much for the help. I did what you said, however, at the end of my posts, it says, “Continue to read the full post” even when the full post is already there. So you have to things at the bottom “more” and “continue.” I just want one or the other. And I do not want the “Continue to read full post” to show when the full post is already there. To see what I mean, visit following link: https://latestartermusician.com/blog/archives/24

Go to the very end of the blog and see the link “Continue to read full post” even though the post is all there.
