Excerpt that links to a tag page

  • I’d like to put an excerpt on my front page that is just a sentence that links to a tag or category page. In other words, there is no post behind the excerpt. Is that possible?

  • Yes, you should be able to do that by writing the sentence, highlight it, and then using the link button in your editor to turn that sentence into a link.

    Since I am not creating a new post I still don’t understand how to compose this excerpt and get it onto the front page.

    Is your front page a Page or a list of Latest Posts?
    If it’s a Page, put it in there. If it’s a list output by the theme, you would have to modify the template file for that (use a child theme), or put it in a widget somewhere.
