    Hello,

    I have created these social media templates:
    New post on our site: {title} {excerpt}… {permalink} {tags}

    However the {excerpt} tag does not add anything to the social media posts! Is there a trick to it?

    Hi @w-sky,

    I just tested a template for Twitter with the same content as you mentioned and it worked fine in our own website. Please, could you provide more details about the problem and the way you set up and use the social template? Some screenshots may really help us understand what is the specific issue.

    You can send us more info to the following email address to avoid exposing sensitive data about your site: support.content at neliosoftware.com

    Also, please keep in mind the {excerpt} placeholder uses the Excerpt value the author explicitly set for a post (i.e. the post_excerpt attribute in a WP_Post). Therefore, it does not use “the first few words of your content,” if that’s what you were expecting.

    Hello David, thanks, yes exactly! I was expecting to get the first few words of the content with {excerpt}. “Problem” solved.

    May I suggest to add a function in Nelio Content to use the start of the post content in social templates? Maybe like this: {start,10} to get the first 10 words of the content.

    Thanks for the suggestion, @w-sky. We’ll add this request into the development cycle.
