Excerpt not showing on smaller screens

The slider works fine on the computer and iPad mini in landscape orientation. But when I rotate the iPad mini into portrait orientation, the excerpts are gone. And the excerpts do not show at all on the iPhone in either orientation.

Note, all of the images are 1140 x 445 but three of them are white where the excerpt would be. That is just part of the image.
