I love the theme, but I don’t want to set the excerpt length globally. Is there a way to use the excerpt length defined in each article instead?

  • Hello There,

You can define the excerpt of custom length using Excerpt field in each post. Add the content that you want to display on archive and it will be displayed in frontend – https://prntscr.com/m1lhxq.

Hi and thanks a lot for answering!
However, this does not really solve my problem – or only partially.

I always used the “read more” link (or now, the “read more” block) in my articles. I’d like the template to appreaciate that one as it is obviously no option to adjust that for a few hundred articles.

If I use the excerpt field you mentioned, I do indeed get the excerpt I like, but then there’s no “read more” link beneath it.

    Any other ideas?

    Hi @sficht,

The Blog option is having “Excerpt” field specifically. However, I will check this with the team if it is possible to include Read more in the consideration as well.

If anything, we will provide an update for that into the next version of the theme.

    Hey There,

Go to WP-admin > Appearance > Customize > Layout > Blog / Archive. Increase the “Excerpt Length” to somewhere more than your content length(before you add read more).

This way it will show the content above “read more” link/block in your each post. Otherwise, it will show the content of the length specified in the customizer settings above.

    Hope it helps.
