    I have the pro version of Term and Category Based Posts Widget but the install of Expert Extension isn’t finding it and has “Get the expected pro widget” in the list of plugins.

    Please check this options in the Term and Category Based Posts Widget in the Post details panel: “Show post excerpt” > “Don’t override Themes and plugin filters”. Then you can see the additional options, which are in a different color like the normal options are.
