Excerpt editor box

  • Hello All,

    I am using the Monopoly theme from MyThemeShop with WP4. As far as I can see (and I have hunted high and low) there is no excerpt editing box in the post editing page and no apparent way to set it via settings since I cannot see a Screen Options menu/tab etc anywhere? The default excerpt that WP generates to show in post summaries is hopeless and I really need to be able to put in my own excerpts. I’d be most grateful to anyone who could tell me how to do this.

  • Not trying to hijack, but I have a similar problem. I have a ton of blank posts, generated in bulk, that I want to delete, but I can’t see an excerpt column in my post listing page so I’ll be sure to only delete the group of blank posts. It is not there under screen options. How do I get it there?

    Also, in trying plug-ins that I thought *might* help (because googling does absolutely nothing but take me on random chases for wrong things), I came across this: Advanced Excerpt Options. Maybe that will help you.

    I hope someone can help figure out where the excerpt preview field/column option is, because it would be handy to see an excerpt of each post on the post list page, and I’m about to freak out without it. Using twentyfourteen. thanks.
