Excerpt Displaying Visual Composer Shortcodes

The excerpt for the posts are showing up great. The problem is the excerpt looks like this:

It’s displaying the [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] shortcode in the excerpt. Is there any way to remove it and just display the text?
