excerpt box gone ? Banner label but no form appears

  • I was working on site designs last week and using the optional excerpt box to designate excerpts. Then I upgraded to the newest WP version (actually a clean install) and now the optional excerpt box is missing on the Write Page — although the blue banner is there.

    The same problem with trackbacks and custom fields: the form labels appear, but not the fill-in boxes.

    Any ideas?

    No plus sign. Just a wide banner with the label on it. “Optional Excerpt.”

    Grrrrrr.

    Which browser?

    Edit. I’d still try to click on the right end of that blue thing…

    Well this is embarrassing. When I clicked on the right end of the blue banner, the optional excerpt box did open up.

    But there was no way for me to know there was a hot spot there. No X or any other symbol.

    Wonder what other buttons might be hidden…

    Wonder if I should run the install script again to clean up the system…
