Excerpt

  • Well, I have a question and I hope that somebody could help me! I use excerpt in some of my posts.

    So, my question would be: is it possible to exclude or delete (force excerpt NOT TO DISPLAY) text which is in bold (text between strong tags). I know that I can use advanced excerpt plug-in, but this is not what I need exactly.

    It would be wonderful if I can force excerpt NOT to display text between strong tag on my index page, but on others pages (for example archive page) to DISPLAY all text!

  • You’d have to write a filter for the ‘the_excerpt’ hook, or the ‘the_content’ hook, or both that would conditionally strip out the strong tags you don’t want.

    You might also consider using a shortcode for this.
