That’s what is supposed to happen.

If you want only the excerpt to show up, you need to edit the Main Template and replace the_content with the_excerpt.

just write another post!

when you have more than one post only the excerpt will be visible on the index-page…

You can use the <– more –> tag. And put it any where in the article. Nothing below will show on the main page.

The “more” tag works with the_content(). WP “fakes” the excerpt if one is not entered. Just put what you want to show in the excerpt field.
