Exceptions of pages not working

Hello,
I am using Daves Live Search plugin version 4.1 and have tried several things to exclude certain pages from the live search but nothing works. I have tried Relevanssi, Search Everything, the “Exceptions” area under the tab section of Daves plugin – but none works.
Can someone *please* tell me how to exclude pages from the live search.
Note: My permalink uses this type: https://example.com/2014/04/23/sample-post/ So how do I use the exceptions area with this type of permalink?
