Except homepage, Site down,error 404

  • Yesterday 12 Jan. 2021 all pages of the site, except the home page gave:
    “404 Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again”

    The solution was, deactivating iThemes security, and then activate it again.

    This solution was similar to/inspired by 2 month ago a (26 nov 2020) then the whole site was down, but with another error: ” “500 Internal server error! The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request”.

    I contacted in both cases the hostprovider, but they see no problems at their server
    WP and all plugins are latest, PHP is 7.3.23. iThemes was running without problems since 2014

    Any suggestions want the cause could be and how to prevent this in future?
