Exceprts on home page missing "Read More"

    All the excerpts on the home page just end suddenly, and they are all an indeterminable length. The inserted ‘Read more’ code is completely ignored (and the excerpt field is empty)

    How do we change the length of the excerpt

    How do we use the ‘Read More’ code?

    How do we get ‘Read More’ or something similar to show after the excerpt?
